Just letting everyone know I am working on version 1.1 now that is going to be a major update. So it might be awhile before the next release but I've already made signification progress, so it is not too far away.
* Refactoring for .Net Framework 4.8+ support, SHVDN3 support, and removing NativeUI requirement
* Adding all crime enhancement settings for far greater personalization, choose how many stars you get for each crime
* Adding crime reporting delay potentials - you will be able to quickly pull out a weapon and kill a solo cop before they can report you
* Changing warrant length/time to game time instead of real world time (with setting to keep real world time if you desire)
* Revamping line-of-sight for more accurate simulation and including civilians as potential optional crime witnesses (calling police on you)
* Revamping identification system to be a progressive system instead of simply a state of identified or not identified, for example police will easily know the color of your vehicle but not the exact model anymore which will affect how easily they spot you for a warrant.
* Adding more police AI enhancements, cops might follow you around as they see you fitting a description of an active warrant
* Support for state saving so when you quit all your warrants will be saved and restored for next play.
These are my plans for this mod's future and will try to get them all into the next version (1.1) but if it takes too long I will release 1.1 with what I have and work on additional features so its not months before the next update. Many of these are from your feedback and requests so please keep them coming - the only exception is for example expanding the stolen vehicle feature where it makes sense to be it's own mod.
@DonHunter I value your feedback and your rating, though they seem to be contradicting each other in this instance. I will gladly look into your suggestion to add options - expect new options to help you dial the feature in with my next update in a few days.
However you shouldn't rate the mod based on how you prefer it to work, rate it for what it is please.
@dimedius I'll look over SHVDN3 compatibility again, I know the mod is detected as a version 2 still when it shouldn't.
Any other feedback for me since you only rated 4.5 stars?
@lordgronko After looking over the mod feature, the only thing else I can figure out to try is to stop police from shooting tazers are the player but no matter what I try I cannot get them to stop. Removing all ammo including ammo in their weapon clip still allows them to shoot. Taking weapons completely away is the only way and that looks very strange.
I'll keep trying to find another way, there are commands you can send that AI like "walk to" so I haven't given up yet.
@ppehrson send your ScriptHookV.log AND ScriptHookVDotNet.log file to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will help you diagnose the issue
@Brötchen So the game mechanics behind how AI arrest the player are mostly hard coded by Rockstar and my attempts to change it haven't worked despite there being an AI command to arrest a ped, it doesn't appear to work on the player ped. So what I can do with this mod is extremely limited in this regard.
The way I coded the lethal force feature was simply to give the police a stungun and equip it and disable their ability to switch weapons. When they need to go back to normal (lethal) behavior I just allow them to switch weapons again.
The way the surrender feature works is that as long as certain conditions are met like on foot and not aiming a weapon, when the player presses a key or button the animation for raising your hands is played and the wanted level is temporarily set to 1 star. This allows the hard coded Rockstar logic to kick in so police try to arrest the player otherwise arrests above 1 star are actually impossible, the code even seems to require the raised hands animation to actually arrest a player ped. My attempts to tell the AI to do anything during this has made this feature not function, for example just telling the closest police AI to walk to the player actually made that cop not arrest the player at all and instead another cop would be used by the game to arrest the player.
I'm not sure why Rockstar has chosen to hardcode the arrest game mechanic, it could be some anti-hacking thing. Rockstar doesn't support modding GTAV and are completely focused on GTAV Online so its even possible some code to help the mutliplayer cop AI is causing limitations or issues with singleplayer cop AI.
@lordgronko I'll look into that part of the mod again - perhaps Rockstar changed something that makes it not work the same anymore. Might also be able to make some improvements. I'll respond again to you in the next 24 hours with more
@ppehrson Yeah, if you look back at the comments I was having someone report the mod not working because they were not installing the latest NativeUI like every other day for months. I gave up and included it in my mod while I work to remove all the requirements of it. In the next release or two my mod will no longer require NativeUI at all.
@lordgronko You should be able to press the surrender button while on the ground and it should make the cops stop and as you get back up you should transition into the surrender animation.
@le__AK Thank you! The feature you are asking about is in another mod that works well with this mod actually https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/fine-tuned-felony-response I also recommend https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/pull-me-over-0-8 which is also compatible and a great mod that compliments this mod!
